OBSERVATION
Before the class, my CT usually stands outside the classroom and welcomes the students into the class. He is standing outside for two reasons: to monitor the hallways by ensuring that each student is going into their classrooms AND welcoming his own students warmly into the class. However, he only stands outside the classroom before the first period. For the following classes, he stays in the classroom.
My CT usually opens the class by asking the students to take out their homework and hold it on their desks. He then circulates around the room checking every student's work. He assesses the homework with either a "complete" or "incomplete". He does not collect the homework, nor does he give the students feedback on their work.

REFLECTION
I like the fact that my CT welcomes his students at 7.20 am with a smile on his face. I think it makes the students feel more welcomed. He also addresses them by their first name and offers a nice "good morning!" However, I think that I would stand close to the classroom door before each new class enters. Rather than just welcoming the first priod students, I would make an effort to do that before each period.
As far as the homework goes, I understand that it's time consuming to check each student's individual work and provide feedback to them. However, I would periodically (perhaps once or twice a week) collect their homework, review it and make comments to the students. I believe that it's important for the students to receive feedback on their work and get assurance that they're understanding the concepts.
